Yes the Canadian …
Yes the Canadian Kennel Club & the American kennel Club also just refer to them as Bulldogs !!!!
I guess in other Countries it is differant ? But here thats a fact ! I too have rescued bulldogs & some people make it sound like a crime that they were “forced’ to go to a breeder. Nothing wrong with that as long as they do the proper homework & find a reputable breeder that stands behind their dogs !

NOT true. Lifespan …
NOT true. Lifespan is supposed to be 10 years but I’ve had several come into rescue who are 10, 11, 12 and older, and still very healthy!

I have always wanted a English Bulldog because of the good disposition, but I have been told that they don’t live very long, at most, five or six years! Is this true? I mean, I’m sure it varies from dog to dog, but overall, what do you know from experience?

You weren’t forced …
You weren’t forced to go through a breeder you chose to. There are plenty of english bulldogs in rescue all over the country. You may have to drive a distance or wait to find one in rescue, but you may have to drive or wait for a breeder as well.

sorry i didn’t mean to imply you supported puppy mills. i’m getting a bully myself. i checked out your rescue organization almost two years ago. unfortunately no one got back to me so I was forced to go through a reputable breeder. Amazing animals, though.
