New parents and pet lovers know just how important it is to have a submissive and accepting pet when the new baby arrives. Bulldogs can become more aggressive when someone new or a baby enters the home. Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz both welcomed their first baby, Bronx Mowgli last November 20, made sure that their resident English bulldog, Hemingway, is well-behaved prior to the time the baby came. The couple added another English bulldog puppy – Rigby, 5 months – as a “buddy”. However, adding a new puppy in the mix only made Hemingway behave badly. The young couple wanted to be sure to keep a “baby-friendly” and a safe home for their first born.
Cesar Millan aka the “Dog Whisperer” came to the rescue and gave crucial obedience training to Hemingway. The “Dog Whisperer taught the then expectant parents tips like how to properly hold Hemingway’s leash for walks and how to use the treadmill with both Hemingway and their five-month-old bulldog, Rigby. Let’s just hope both English bulldogs are in their best behavior since Bronx’s arrival.
Did the “Dog Whisperer” change Hemingway’s attitude for the better? Here’s a sneak peek video on this episode premiering 7pm Sunday, December 28 on the National Geographic Channel. The special episode will jumpstart National Geographic Channel’s “Dog Whisperer” Week, running through Friday, January 2.
